Argentina’s Secretary for Mining Policy, Carolina Sanchez, visited Australia from 28 October to 2 November. Her visit included participating in the IMARC mining Conference, which was held in the city of Melbourne, as well as a visit to Western Australia.
During her stay, Secretary Sanchez visited two mining sites, Solomon (Fortescue Metals), in the Pilbara region, Western Australia, and Fosterville, in Bendigo, Victoria. She also signed a Memorandum of Understanding for mining cooperation with the State of Victoria, and spoke of investment opportunities in Argentina on IMARC’s Latin America panel.
On the sidelines of the Conference, she held meetings with several companies which are currently investing in Argentina, as well as with METS companies which provide specialized services for the mining sector.
