Bicentenary of Independence in Melbourne

On July 9, 2016, day of the Bicentenary of our independence, the Argentine comunity of the city of Melbourne hosted a raising of the national flag at the Federation Square.

III Biennial of Contemporary Art in Buenos Aires, Argentina

"200 Years of Tango" Concert in Canberra

The Embassy is very pleased to invite you to the concert “200 Years of Tango” that will be performed by TangoMundo ensemble in celebration of the Bicentenary of Argentina’s Independence. It is a free event, that will be followed by Argentine wine and canapés.

Trip to Tasmania, organized by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade

Nomination of Foreign Minister Malcorra to the position of Secretary-General of the United Nations

On May 20, 2016, President Mauricio Macri presented the nomination of Susana Malcorra to the position of UN Secretary General, highlighting that her diplomatic experience will allow her to bring “creative solutions” to the challenges that the organization faces.

The nomination was formalized in a letter sent by President Macri to the President of the UN General Assembly, Mogens Lykketoft, and the President of the UN Security Council, Amr Abdellatif Aboulatta.

Visit to the Reactor built by INVAP - 10th. Anniversary Celebration.

On Friday, the 23 of April, 2016, H.E. the Ambassador of the Argentine Republic to Australia, Mr. Hugo J. Gobbi, accompanied by officials of that Embassy, visited the research nuclear reactor OPAL located in Lucas Heights, near Sydney.

The next 12 of August, 2016, will be the 10th. Anniversary of the installation and start-up of the reactor.
