From the 28 till the 30 of April, 2016, H.E. the Ambassador of Argentina to Australia, Hugo J. Gobbi, took part in a trip to Tasmania, hosted by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Hon. Julie Bishop.

Nomination of Foreign Minister Malcorra to the position of Secretary-General of the United Nations

On May 20, 2016, President Mauricio Macri presented the nomination of Susana Malcorra to the position of UN Secretary General, highlighting that her diplomatic experience will allow her to bring “creative solutions” to the challenges that the organization faces.

The nomination was formalized in a letter sent by President Macri to the President of the UN General Assembly, Mogens Lykketoft, and the President of the UN Security Council, Amr Abdellatif Aboulatta.

Visit to the Reactor built by INVAP - 10th. Anniversary Celebration.

On Friday, the 23 of April, 2016, H.E. the Ambassador of the Argentine Republic to Australia, Mr. Hugo J. Gobbi, accompanied by officials of that Embassy, visited the research nuclear reactor OPAL located in Lucas Heights, near Sydney.

The next 12 of August, 2016, will be the 10th. Anniversary of the installation and start-up of the reactor.

Gauchito Gil's Malbec World Day

On the 17th. (Melbourne) and the 23rd. (Sydney) of April, we celebrated Gauchito Gil's Malbec World Day. The two events, aimed at promoting Argentine's Malbec in Australia, were held with the support of Sommeliers of Australia and are good indication of the increasing interest that our wines inspire in this country.

This 2016 edition gathered wine importers, oenologists, restaurateurs,  media and public in general. Along with the Malbecs, there were "empanadas"...
